Chelsea duo N’Golo Kante and Jorginho could miss out on Leeds United clash

According to football.london, Thomas Tuchel in his pre-match press conference revealed that N’Golo Kante and Jorginho might not feature for Chelsea against Leeds United. Chelsea are up against the relegation-threatened Leeds United and the Blues will be hoping to secure their third place with a win.

The Blues boss will be keen to bounce back after a poor spate of results that has seen them get involved in the race for the top four. Unless we pick up our form soon, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur could make us pay dearly.

The Blues go to West Yorkshire with a chance to finish in the top four still on the table. They trail Arsenal by one point and will face tough competition from a relegation-threatened Leeds United side that are fighting for their lives.

A key midfield weakness

Due to injury, Chelsea stars missed our previous match against Wolves. Jorginho has returned to training ahead of the Leeds match but his availability is in question. Tuchel indicated at the press conference that he would prefer to have both players available, but whether that will happen remains to be seen.

“We’re fighting for Jorgi and N’Golo tomorrow but I don’t know if they’ll make it.”

Despite not enjoying a largely impressive season, both players are key cogs in the Chelsea setup. Having them back available will hand Tuchel more experience in the middle of the park, aiding their cause of seizing control of the midfield.

They can also use this playing time to demonstrate their worth to possible new owners. With the duo not getting any younger, it remains to be seen if they will spend the upcoming years at Stamford Bridge.

More Chelsea news

Kante has faced considerable criticism this season for being old and fatigued, and he has not played much this season. However, his achievements for Chelsea on their way to Champions League success were exceptional, and he is a player who is hard to replace.

Jorginho, on the other hand, was a Ballon d’Or nominee and has been crucial to Chelsea’s recent success. Having players of this calibre available will certainly aid us in what will be a hard-fought game against Leeds.
