According to MailPlus (h/t football.london) Chelsea have decided to pay £1million to the players if they defeat Liverpool and win the FA Cup this weekend. The Blues players will split this amount if they manage to spoil Liverpool’s quadruple with a win at Wembley.
After their recent victory over Leeds United, Thomas Tuchel’s team would have already been motivated to beat the Reds and win the cup. But any additional financial motivation would always be welcome by the players.
When split between them, it may not be as much compared to what some of them make in a week or a month, but it is still a considerable amount.
The money will be allocated among the team on a pro-rata basis, with the amount each player earns based on their appearances and participation in the victory. Chelsea’s bonus structure is thought to be one of the most lucrative in the league.
Can the Blues spoil the quadruple
The west Londoners have already lost once to the Reds in a cup final, with the defeat coming in the League Cup final in February. Tuchel’s men will be desperate to take revenge for their Carabao Cup setback as they face them again this weekend.
This increased benefit would also motivate them to work harder; after all, who wouldn’t want to be rewarded for their efforts? It is ideal if the players are motivated enough to win the game without any financial incentives, which they undoubtedly would be, but earning an extra buck in the process doesn’t hurt.
Given that the money would be awarded based on the players’ performance, everyone will strive to give their best. The west Londoners will not have it easy as the Merseyside-based giants will want to become the first team to achieve the quadruple in England and create history.

We were impressive in our last game and should carry the same tempo into the next game and win it for the new potential owners. They, alongside Tuchel, would be keeping an eye on which player impresses them this month- the one immediately before the summer window.
There is pride on the line and it is imperative that we don’t end this season empty-handed. This is our final chance for a silverware this campaign and winning something would certainly be a massive reward for all the hard work we have put in this season.
