Chelsea fans told what happens to Bruce Buck and Marina Granovskaia after takeover

Bruce Buck to remain as Chelsea chairman once Todd Boehly’s takeover is approved while Marina Granovskaia also stays

According to the Daily Mail, Bruce Buck will remain as Chelsea chairman if Todd Boehly’s ownership of the club is approved by the Government and Premier League. Marina Granovskaia is also expected to stay as the Club’s director.

There has been ambiguity about who would buy the club since Roman Abramovich revealed his intention to sell it when Russia invaded Ukraine. Since then, the government restrictions imposed on the club have made life difficult for everyone affiliated with it.

After much waiting, a company led by Todd Boehly, a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, has agreed to buy Chelsea from Roman Abramovich. For the buyout to be completed, the Premier League and the UK government must now ratify the £4.25 billion transactions, which is expected to happen by the end of May.

Will the Chelsea DNA be passed on to the new owners?

With Chairman Bruce Buck, who has been part of Chelsea since 2004, and the director Marina Granovskaia retained by the new owners. Even though there is a change in ownership the vision of the Blues is likely to be carried on with these two on board who would ensure continuity between the Roman Abramovich era and the Todd Boehly era.

Buck is the chairman of both Chelsea FC Plc and Chelsea Football Club Limited, as well as the Chelsea FC Foundation’s trustee and chairman. Boehly and Buck will join the Chelsea board of directors, along with journalist Daniel Finkenstein and public relations executive Barbara Charone, with the last two taking non-executive roles.

Under Abramovich, Granovskaia worked on transfers and contracts. In 2010, she became his club representative, and in 2013, she joined the board of directors before becoming chief executive the following year. The majority of player transactions are handled by Granovskaia. Tuttosport, an Italian daily, awarded her the best club director in Europe last year.

Both of them appear to be well-suited for this position, and we’re excited to have somebody who can pass on the Blues’ ethos to the new owners. This would be a great move as they have the knowledge and capability to help the owners take the best decisions for the club’s development in all areas.

Marina, in particular, could find herself becoming busier than usual this summer. The Blues can use defensive reinforcements as Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Andreas Christensen can leave the club at the end of the season.

Romelu Lukakua and Timo Werner aren’t firing on all cylinders so a quality attacker won’t hurt as well. N’Golo Kante and Jorginho have also had sub-average performances in recent months. The duo isn’t getting any younger and fans wouldn’t mind if the club decides to strengthen that area of the pitch too.
