Louis Saha urges Chelsea to sign Everton star Richarlison in the summer transfer window
Speaking to Boyle Sports as quoted by Daily Star, former Manchester United and Everton star Louis Saha has urged Chelsea to sign Richarlison from his former club in the summer.
The former Manchester United man is of the opinion that the Brazilian possesses a unique skill set in the Premier League that will suit Chelsea well. The two former clubs of Saha clashed against each other in the Premier League yesterday with the Toffees emerging victorious thanks to a goal for Gordon.
Richarlison was impressive for the Toffees last evening against United and has been a very impressive player for quite some time now. The 24-year-old has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances this season under Rafa Benitez and now Frank Lampard.
Chelsea were interested a few years ago when he was in South America with Fluminese but a transfer failed to materialise. Instead, Watford picked up the forward in 2017 and he has been a hit in England ever since.
Speaking about the striker, Saha said,
“Chelsea would be a great fit for Richarlison, all top sides will be monitoring his situation. I don’t see any sides that wouldn’t have him. He’s a special player and no-one plays the way he plays. He’s always a danger and I can see any side from the top, Chelsea or Liverpool, wait not Liverpool! Obviously joking. For sure a team in the Premier League will be looking, but I hope Everton manage to keep that kind of player because he’s the star.”
Could Richarlison click at Chelsea?
For all of the Brazilian’s talents, he is extremely inconsistent and somewhat injury-prone. This would act as a sticking point for any team considering signing the Evertonian.
Chelsea’s striker problems this season have been well documented. Timo Werner, notwithstanding his recent brace against Southampton, has struggled to replicate the kind of form that made the Blues sign him from RB Leipzig.
Romelu Lukaku has blown hot and cold and fails to inspire confidence. While the Belgian is undoubted quality, it does not come to the fore often. This has often left Chelsea frustrated especially in tightly fought games.
Richarlison could be a good signing for Chelsea but at the right price. Tuchel needs to get the best out of the Brazilian and make him score goals on a consistent basis.

A lot of factors will affect any potential Richarlison deal. At best, right now, there are mixed feelings towards the Brazilian. It remains to be seen what happens with the Evertonian striker.
