Chelsea receive shock update as Tuchel is open to joining PL rivals

Thomas Tuchel willing to listen to offers from Manchester United amidst Chelsea uncertainty

According to The Athletic (Subscription Required), Thomas Tuchel is supposedly willing to listen to offers from Manchester United amidst uncertainty surrounding his future at Chelsea. This update would no doubt be surprising, to say the least, but the chances of a move are probably challenging at this moment.

The Blues have been affected by several restrictions imposed by the UK Government following the latter’s sanction on Roman Abramovich. As such, doubts have been raised against the prospect of Tuchel staying at Stamford Bridge in the long term. Man United are looking to appoint a permanent manager to replace Ralf Rangnick from next season onwards.

The Red Devils have been keeping tabs on the Chelsea boss as a result despite the potential complications involved in facilitating a move. However, some sources claim that the German boss would be ready to entertain proposals from the Manchester club even if he has hinted towards staying with the West London side under new ownership as well.

Does it hold weight?

It is really difficult to see Tuchel departing us to join one of our bitter rivals, especially under the current circumstances. While things could always take a turn for the worse, it is still doubtful if he would accept any offers from Old Trafford. After all, that would leave a sour taste with us and the relationship he has built at Stamford Bridge in a short time.

The prospective new owners would have the power to change Tuchel from the helm, but it would be puzzling to see that happen. He has been excellent for us in the sporting side of things and has handled himself sublimely under the current complications.

There is the possibility of the sanctions raining down further challenges moving forward, but the UK Government probably would not want that since they would be crippling a cultural asset in the process as well. As such, there is hope among the supporters that the club will resume regular business once a sale is facilitated.

That being said, it would be best if the club would be on their toes and map out the potential worse case scenarios that could unravel in the future. We must think about the possibility that Tuchel may be willing to hear Man United’s approach after all.

Hence, the club must assure the 48-year-old boss that his project would not be affected by these unfortunate circumstances and that he will be backed appropriately once sanctions ease off. Hopefully, normalcy returns sooner rather than later.
