“Not in our hands”- Thomas Tuchel gives stance on his Chelsea future after Newcastle victoy

Thomas Tuchel sends message on Chelsea future amidst ownership uncertainty

Thomas Tuchel has provided an update on his immediate Chelsea future amidst the ownership uncertainty that has unravelled following the sanction on Roman Abramovich. He spoke on the subject after his side’s 1-0 victory against Newcastle United in the Premier League.

The UK Government had imposed a sanction on Abramovich, which has resulted in uncertainty over Tuchel’s future at Stamford Bridge. There were some concerns that the manager would not be able to complete this season despite having a contract until 2024. There were a lot of talks on the matter in the past few days, with Manchester United monitoring his situation as well.

Speaking in the post-match press conference (h/t Daily Mail Online), Tuchel has assured the Blues supporters that he will stay with them for the remainder of the current season. However, he did say that they are taking it day by day because of the current circumstances. That being said, the boss has expressed that the club is doing their best to solve this crisis that has affected them recently.

“Me? If I stay till the end of the season? Sure, there is no doubt that I stay until the end of the season. Well, we have to admit that we go day by day as I said because it’s not in our hands. The conversations are going on that we can operate in a way that we can finish the season.”

More good news!

It would have been a massive blow for us if the German manager was forced to part ways with us due to the current circumstances. However, it is good to know that he has his mind set on finishing the season with us despite the volatile environment that he is currently in.

Let’s hope to see more positive outcomes in the coming months so that we can get the club back to running normally. That being said, the management must do their best to instil confidence in the coach and the squad. After all, we would want them to focus on the sporting side of things amidst these uncertainties.

Tuchel has been terrific for us since taking over the managerial role from Frank Lampard. Ideally, we would want to keep hold of him past this term as well and fulfil his current contract. Moreover, we would also hope to see him extend his deal with us if he can keep improving us with sufficient backing.

However, it is understandable why the Blues coach has not addressed his long-term future with us. After all, we are still unsure about what lies in store for us moving forward. Let’s hope that the UK Government can help facilitate a sale at the earliest to put an end to these uncertainties for good.
