Chelsea handed boost as agent says Aurelien Tchouameni has no agreement with Real Madrid
According to The Sun, Chelsea have received a transfer boost as the agent of Aurelien Tchouameni has conveyed that his client has no agreement with Real Madrid regarding a future move. It was claimed that the midfielder had reached common ground with the Spanish club over a potential transfer ahead of this summer.
Tchouameni is one of the highly-rated midfield prospects in world football right now and is also sought after by many clubs. The Blues and Real have been linked with the talented midfielder ahead of the summer window. However, there were rumours that he had reached an agreement with the La Liga side.
Those talks were firmly shut down by the Frenchman’s agent as he revealed the matter to the French publication, Le Parisien. That would give the English club a sigh of relief as they are in the market for a world-class midfielder at this moment. Declan Rice of West Ham United was an option, but the £150million valuation prompted them to end their interest with Tchouameni being available for a lower price.
Chelsea to sign Tchouameni?
The 22-year-old is widely regarded as one of the future superstars in the making, if he isn’t one already. After all, he has quickly become a regular for AS Monaco and France national team in a short time. He recently scored a winner in the dying moments to give his country a 2-1 win against Ivory Coast.
We need someone with world-class quality to replace one of Jorginho or N’Golo Kante moving forward. The two have entered their 30s and cannot keep playing at the top level forever. Conor Gallagher is surely a prospect to look forward to but with Saul Nigez’s potential return to parent club Atletico Madrid this summer, we would be smart to properly beef up our midfield for the foreseeable future.
The likes of Billy Gilmour and Xavier Simons can play there, but they would need time to make their mark in the first-team setup first. Tchouameni would be a useful choice for us in such a case since he has already garnered the required experience at a young age. However, we may need to deal with Paris Saint-Germain, who could pose a threat in our pursuit.
It is good to know that the race for the Ligue 1 star is still open as he is yet to reach an agreement with Los Blancos. That being said, we would need to impose ourselves in the pursuit and gain an advantage over others. That is not possible with the current restrictions that have been put on the West London side by the UK Government.
The club officials must find a solution to the transfer ban that is imposed on us currently. After all, we cannot engage in any dealings, so our competitors could use that edge to gain an advantage in the race. Only time will tell if we can bring in Tchouameni to boost our squad ahead of next season.
