Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel keen to take down Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final
According to Chelsea’s official site, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed that he hopes to gift ‘the best day’ to the supporters ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley.
The Blues boss has completely changed the attitude and fighting spirit of the Stamford Bridge outfit since joining them last year. After winning the Champions League and the Club World Cup, he has not just delivered on the trophies front but also re-established the Blues as a premier club.
Tuchel saw his Chelsea side fall short in last season’s FA Cup final against Leicester City and will be keen to win his first domestic trophy in England tonight. Both of our matches against Liverpool in the Premier League ended scoreless this season and the game tonight could prove to be another close affair.
The Carabao Cup final today will be the fourth final of Thomas Tuchel’s stint at the club. Liverpool go in to the game in top form and will hand the Blues a formidable challenge on the night.
In the interview, the German manager acknowledged his team’s defeat in the last FA Cup final but emphasized that one match in isolation does not define his team’s character. The former Dortmund manager added that Chelsea gave everything that night and will do the same against Liverpool today.
“We want to put our teeth into this match and into the task of beating Liverpool. We want this absolutely. Some days like last season’s FA Cup final, you need to accept it. This is sometimes the message that sport teaches you, and this is good because you can take it into life that this is how it goes; it’s not always sunshine.”
Tuchel also revealed that he wants to make it the best day for the Chelsea fans by presenting the best possible performance in the final. It is fair to say that anything short of a win will leave him far off the mark.
“But we fight hard to make it the best day for us and for our supporters today.”
Can Tuchel lead Chelsea to EFL Cup glory?
Thomas Tuchel’s arrival in London has had a massive impact on the performance of some players. His man-management and on-field tactics have been top-notch, resulting in enormous success. His confidence clearly shows that he is motivated to lift another title with the team.

However, he wouldn’t be on the pitch and the onus will be on the players’ to make the difference. So he needs to find a way to channel that energy and confidence to the players. As he has already done the process in the past, he shouldn’t have any issues this time.
