Thomas Tuchel provides an update on the future of prolific Chelsea loanee

Transfer News: Thomas Tuchel provides an update on the future of Chelsea loanee Armando Broja

According to Football.London, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has advised loanee Armando Broja to focus more on the present than his next destination.

Armando Broja is a product of Chelsea’s superb youth academy, but it was not until the first phase of the campaign that people started noticing the incredible abilities of the Albanian star. Now on loan at Southampton, the 20-year-old has already scored five Premier League goals this term – the same number of times as Chelsea’s marquee signing Romelu Lukaku managed to do so in the top flight.

Ralph Hassenhutl admitted that Chelsea loanee Armando Broja is enjoying life at Southampton.

Broja has already become a key player for the Saints and a regular starter under Ralph Hasenhüttl. The Austrian recently suggested that his team is currently in talks with the Blues board to extend the stay of the Albanian star. The speculation kept rising after his comments. As Chelsea’s current frontline isn’t having a great season, what our board would do is a big question.

In a recent interview, our German manager confirmed that Broja would remain a Southampton player until the end of the season. It is for the best as he will continue to play week in week out at St Mary’s.

“He is our player, he is doing good, but at the same time, it is only halfway through the season, so he needs to continue to improve and make his statement at Southampton. They are our players for a reason; they have quality and a mentality.”

The former Paris Saint-Germain manager hailed the Albanian star and advised him to not think about the future. It is sound advice given that Broja should not take his development so far for granted.

“Armando is getting better and better. He is a unique player with unique strengths: strong and robust and a goalscorer. Now is not the time to talk about summer. He has to stay calm and keep on improving.”

The strong comments from Thomas Tuchel suggested that Chelsea aren’t interested in selling Broja to any club. Even though the German manager didn’t provide any confirmation about the 20-year-old forward’s next move, his affection for the youngster hints that our manager would be open to recalling him soon.

The Albanian has shown impressive performance on loan, and if he continues to perform in such a way, Thomas Tuchel wouldn’t have any problem finding a spot for him in our team. After seeing the horrible performances of Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner of late, we might require a new player for our forward line soon. Our impressive loanee could save us from splashing the cash for another big-money star.
