Transfer News: Chelsea have the edge to secure Ivan Perisic move with Inter Milan open to offers
According to the Mirror, Inter Milan would listen to offers for potential Chelsea target Ivan Perisic to avoid losing him on a free transfer in the summer window.
Ivan Perisic has been truly sensational playing down the flanks for club and country over the years. The Croatian has already bagged four goals and two assists in 25 appearances across all club competitions.
An astute dribbler on the ball, he is incredibly versatile and can play down both flanks for his team. The wide-man has certainly made a big name for himself at Inter, where he won the Serie A last season with Antonio Conte.
Despite having a contract that lasts until the end of the season, Perisic hasn’t signed a renewal with Inter Milan. The Croatian star isn’t completely ruling out the possibility of extending his stay but would require a substantial sporting project that meets his ‘ambitions’.
Perisic to Chelsea?
However, the Nerazzurri board can’t risk losing him on a free in the summer window and are agreeing to listen to offers from interested parties. Having already signed Romelu Lukaku from them in the summer, we can now go back for seconds.
And as a result, we are keeping tabs on the situation. Even though there is competition from London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal, it is said that the Blues’ strong sporting project would ‘appeal’ to the Croatian star.
Chelsea’s transfer priority at this point is obvious after losing left-back Ben Chilwell for the remainder of the season. Marcos Alonso could certainly use some help, and Perisic is one player who can provide it. Having played as a winger in his heyday, it is clear he can provide us with a lot going forward.

But we will have to act fast. As stated above, there is interest in him from other clubs and given Inter’s willingness to sell him this month, there is just a little over two weeks left in this window.
Turning 33 next month, Perisic certainly isn’t a long-term solution for us down that flank. But in the short term, he can provide great competition to Chilwell and Alonso down that left-hand side.
