21-goal striker on Chelsea’s radar pressured to decide on his future by current club

Transfer News: Chelsea target Erling Haaland pressurized to take a decision by Borussia Dortmund

According to Football.london, Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has suggested that he has to take a decision regarding his future soon amid strong interest from Chelsea.

Erling Haaland has developed himself into one of the most important players for Dortmund in just two seasons. Despite missing several matches due to injury, the Norwegian international has managed to bag 21 goals and six assists in 18 appearances, including a brace against SC Freiburg in the previous match.

Still a top contender for the European golden shoe, the 21-year-old star’s scintillating form has attracted interest from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Borussia Dortmund understand this concern and want to know whether they can count on the Norwegian to play for the club in the near future.

Haaland to Chelsea?

After the match against Freiburg, the Dortmund star suggested that even though he is more concerned about the present situation rather than his next move, the German club is putting pressure on him to find where his interest lies.

“Borussia Dortmund have started to put lot of pressure on me. They want me to decide now. And so… yeah, things will happen now.”

It is not the first time Chelsea have shown interest in Haaland after attempting to sign him in the summer. But, finding it too difficult to lure him away from Signal Iduna Park, the Blues signed Romelu Lukaku instead

The Belgian star’s total commitment towards our side is still unclear after that controversial interview he did recently. And after his showing vs Manchester City in the 1-0 loss, Tuchel blasted the ex-Everton and West Brom for his on-field performance. Thus, things aren’t really rosy between Lukaku and the club right now.

However, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Dortmund striker isn’t highly interested in moving to England, which puts our pursuit at significant risk.

Looking at the poor performances of Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic, our forward line hasn’t shown a lot of fire lately. In contrast, Haaland is constantly scoring goals. Given his status, he would undoubtedly be a starter wherever he goes.

If he decides to move to the Premier League- even if that looks unlikely- it goes without saying that we would want him to be on our team sheet from the get-go. After all, it wouldn’t make sense for him to come here and warm the benches, even if that is in the initial stages of his stint.

Those who constantly follow Haaland’s performances know that he is a player headed for the top. A brutal finisher in front of goal, his physique and age make him a seductive prospect for any of Europe’s top clubs. Signing him would be one of the smartest moves we can make, but it remains to be seen if we can fend off competition for him, and if the ex-Molde man would choose a move to the PL.
