Chelsea among the likely destinations for Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic
According to the Italian publication Tuttomercato (h/t The Express), Chelsea are among the likely future destinations for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic. He has seen his name spread across Europe following his excellent performances for the past two seasons.
Manchester City, Barcelona and Juventus are the three other clubs who have been named alongside the Blues. However, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been omitted even if they are highly interested in signing the 21-year-old. The Gunners were interested in discussing the terms but, his agents had not picked up the calls as they were unsure about playing at Emirates Stadium.
The Serie A club are assessing their options and could sell Vlahovic as he would enter the last year of his contract at the end of this campaign. They have named a price tag of around £65million, but there have been no signs that anyone is willing to meet that asking price. He has already rejected a renewal offer from his club, which would have made him the highest-paid player in the Italian side’s history.
Vlahovic to Chelsea?
It is still early days for us to say for sure that we are actively pursuing the Serb in trying to get his signature. In a worst-case scenario, the Romelu Lukaku situation could have seen us look for other options but, Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that the matter is resolved.
Our attackers like Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have failed to perform at the level of consistency they showed at their previous clubs. If the club deems one or some of them as dispensable, then we could have a situation where the Serie A star is an option for us.
The Serbian would also offer the option of pairing him along with Lukaku and possibly recreate the latter’s connection with Lautaro Martinez at Inter Milan. Having a choice like that is always good, and it may also help the Belgian attain the peak of his powers that he had shown in Italy.
If the potential destinations named above are true, we would have to deal with a stern challenge if we end up deciding to pursue the Fiorentina ace. At the moment, there are no indications that we are going to spend probably a high sum on an attacking option.

Moreover, our priority could lie elsewhere such as at centre-back, and the defensive situation is what concerns us the most currently. So in a reasonable sense, it is likely that Marina Gronovskaia would try to address those issues before spending on an area where we have no priority.
