Spanish giants anger Chelsea honcho with their pursuit of stellar Blues star

Real Madrid have angered Roman Abramovic thanks to their interest in Antonio Rudiger

According to Super Deporte (h/t Football.London), Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ‘annoyed’ by Real Madrid’s approach for Antonio Rudiger

The German international has had a massive influence on Thomas Tuchel’s time with the Blues. The 28-year-old defender led by example and led the team by example and this season hasn’t been any different.

Rudiger helped Blues keep a clean sheet in seven games out of the 15 he has featured in so far. He played a massive part in Chelsea’s win against Leeds United by winning two penalties that helped swing the tide. Clearly, he has been an impactful presence at both ends of the pitch.

The on-field performances of Rudiger have been full of grit and determination. However, Chelsea haven’t sorted out his contract until now. The German international is set to be a free agent at the end of the season. Furthermore, he would be eligible to talk with foreign teams from January. Real Madrid for one is one of the teams in the fray.

Los Blancos have made their intention clear and continue to show interest in the German defender. The Spanish team has been at the forefront and shown considerable curiosity in the player. However, that hasn’t gone well with Abramovich.

It is believed that the Russian oligarch has become ‘annoyed’ with the Madrid based team’s approach to luring one of Chelsea’s top players. As a result, the Russian owner has planned a revenge swoop and is eyeing a move to lure Eden Hazard to Stamford Bridge.
