Ralf Rangnick lauds the work Thomas Tuchel has done at Chelsea so far
According to Metro, new Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has praised his German compatriot Thomas Tuchel for the remarkable feat he has achieved with Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel joined the Blues earlier this year and since then, has been involved in making Chelsea one of the best teams in Europe. The German manager swiftly turned things around last season after the mid-season departure of Frank Lampard. The Blues acquired the top 4 spot in the Premier League and gave a hard time to other top teams.
However, it was the Champions League run that attracted the eyes of the footballing critics. The former Borussia Dortmund manager delivered the coveted trophy in his first season in charge after failing with PSG in the final a year prior to that.
This season’s story has been emphatic from the start. Without the dramatic defeat against West Ham and loss against Manchester City, their Premier League season has been spotless. On the European front, the success has been spectacular as they stand top of group H. This season’s flow indicates that the former PSG manager could land his hand on silverware this season.
In his first press conference, The new Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick praised Tuchel for his achievements. Rangnick, of course, is considered a mentor of the Blues boss.
‘To do what Thomas [Tuchel] did in four months at Chelsea was incredible.’
The former RB Leipzig manager has also suggested that it’d be difficult for him to replicate that success with the Red Devils.
‘To win the Champions League, finish fourth in the league, and now be towards the top of the league with almost the same players is a big achievement. I am not sure I can say that things will develop in the same way for me at Manchester United.’
The Blues currently stand in 3rd position, 9 points clear of Manchester United. On the other hand, United held Thomas Tuchel’s team to a draw at Stamford Bridge under Michael Carrick. It’d be thrilling to see how Rangnick’s team fares against this Chelsea side.
