Rival boss opens up on the future of impressive 21-year-old Chelsea loanee

Patrick Vieira opens up on the future of Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher

According to Daily Express, Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has suggested that they would decide on the future of Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher at the end of the season.

This season, the youngster has been the talk of the town and has been giving some awe-inspiring performances for the Eagles. The 21-year-old midfielder has scored six goals this term, which is the same number that Chelsea’s top scorer Mason Mount has achieved in the Premier League. Furthermore, Conor has also registered three assists to his name.

The Cobham graduate scored two times in Palace’s win against Everton yesterday and is growth is clear for all to see. He continues to evolve with every game and has the makings of a world-class player.

Amidst such a situation, Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has reflected on how his team would handle the future contract situation regarding Gallagher.  The Arsenal legend isn’t too concerned about what happens in the future and is instead focused on the now.

“We don’t think about what will happen in the future.”

He hinted when Palace would take the decision on Gallagher’s future in the summer. Given that there is no obligation to buy, it remains to be seen just how much power they have in making g a call on Gallagher’s future.

“We have him for a year, and we are pleased to work with him. It’s a win-win. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season.”

Vieira’s intentions are clear. However, it’s a matter of query how Thomas Tuchel perceives the situation.

Chelsea has been struggling with their midfield lineup. Few inevitable injuries and performance drop in some Blues midfielders has made it challenging for Thomas Tuchel. The West Londoners have only managed to win 2 out of their last five matches. However, their previous game was saved by a penalty goal from Jorginho, who is also struggling with back pain for some time. Thus, the necessity is apparent for Thomas Tuchel’s team.

Nevertheless, if Gallagher returns to Stamford Bridge, he would have to face massive competition for a starting position. He wouldn’t be able to play the number of games he is currently getting at Palace. Thus, the situation is relatively complicated. However, the West Londoners would massively benefit from a player like Gallagher’s calibre in the team.
