How the FA plan to deal with Chelsea following Leeds United bust-up

Chelsea to be warned by the FA over disorderly fight with Leeds United players last weekend

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are set to be formally warned by the Football Association (FA) after their disorderly behaviour with the Leeds United players during the victory on the weekend.

The Blues had a thrilling game against the Peacocks on Saturday afternoon. It was an end-to-end game that finished with Jorginho scoring a penalty winner in the 94th minute. However, tensions were running high throughout the game, with both teams engaging in rough challenges.

The pushing and shoving got extreme at the full-time whistle after Junior Firpo and Kai Havertz were pushing and shoving each other. Antonio Rudiger and Diego Llorente intervened and had their own verbal brawl. It took several players to separate the pair and prevent a physical fight.

Thus, Chelsea are now going to be formally warned by the FA. Leeds, on the other hand, are going to face charges after their disorderly behaviour with referee Chris Kavanaugh. Not to mention their role in the heated scuffle at full-time.

Fair enough?

This is not the first time that the West London club are hearing from the FA for disorderly conduct. The Blues had a similar incident in August after Reece James was handed a red card after conceding a penalty against Liverpool.

The club had to pay a fine of £25,000 at the time. However, it is fair to only receive a warning this time around. The disagreement and the frustration boiled over in the Leeds players at full-time, and they were the ones that initiated the brawl.

Rudiger was always going to defend his teammates, no matter what it took. Fortunately, none of our players were booked for the incident, especially since we already have quite a few players out of action through injury

Tuchel shall need to instil some discipline in his players. But they are sensible professionals and understand the repercussions of poor behaviour with the opponent or the referee. Regardless, it was an entertaining end to the game and tempers were bound to flare since the two clubs are bitter rivals.
