Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel makes his stance clear on hectic schedule

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel gives his verdict on hectic festive schedule

According to Football.London, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel believes that the festive schedule will be a problem for his team, but he does not have any solution on how to tackle it.

The Blues are currently struggling to cope with the absence of key players. The recent injuries coupled with Covid isolations have made it difficult for Tuchel to field a strong team. The German manager was pushed to call on youth players to feature against Brentford amid the absence of first-team players.

The North London team have only managed to win three of their last eight matches. But the situation could get worse in the coming weeks. Having lost ground in the title race, Chelsea cannot afford to le their guard down.

Chelsea are entering a busy festive schedule where Thomas Tuchel’s team will have to play five matches in just 12 days. Therefore, how the German manager will rotate his squad could prove to the difference-maker.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel suggested that even though the idea of playing a high volume of games in such a short span excites him, his current squad condition might not be suited to face such a situation.

“This is quite exciting. It is nothing new to play three matches in a week, but without nine or 10 players, it is challenging. So, we struggle a little bit, but we find solutions.”

Big problems ahead for Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel?

Tuchel agreed that Chelsea are suffering a lot at this moment, but the German doesn’t have any solution for the situation which can favour all the teams.

“There are clubs who suffer a lot; we suffer very much at the moment, so maybe it would be better to have a short break, but I do not have a solution or a clear opinion of what we can do for everybody.”

Tuchel’s side was already struggling without N’Golo Kanté and Mateo Kovačic. Even though the duo have returned from their injuries,, they might not have gained full match fitness at this moment. Adding further depth in the January transfer window is not a bad move.
