Transfer News: Young Chelsea defender offered to Serie A giants

Chelsea defender Malaga Sarr has been offered to both AC Milan and Napoli

According to CalcioNapoli24 (h/t Football.London), The representatives of Malang Sarr have offered him to AC Milan and Napoli amid a lack of game time under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.

The youngster hasn’t found his rhythm at Chelsea and is far from a first-team starter. The French defender joined the Blues in the summer of 2020 and has been trying to adapt to the North London team’s setting. This season, the defender has played only four matches across all competitions.

Even new manager Thomas Tuchel hasn’t found a solution to accommodate the 22-year-old in his squad. Whether it means he will be allowed to move on remains to be seen.

Sarr’s lack of game time is evident, and even after a considerable amount of time, he hasn’t made any improvement. Amid such a scenario, the French defender’s representatives are trying to find a new club. It is believed that the former Porto player has been offered to AC Milan and Napoli in recent times.

Chelsea currently have impressive depth in the central defensive position. Apart from the likes of Antonio Rudier, Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen, the Blues also have the likes of Trevoh Chalobah in their midst.

But in recent times, Marina Granovskaia’s board faced difficulty binding the first choice defenders to a new contract. Every passing day, Rudiger has been closing to a Chelsea exit. Thus Blues would need more than one solution to tackle the situation.

Andreas Christensen and César Azpilicueta are also in the final few months of their Chelsea contract. Losing one or two of the top four defenders would hurt Chelsea’s chances of landing a title.

If Sarr also leaves, that would hurt Thomas Tuchel’s team’s depth. Thus Marina Granovskaia’s board should plan beforehand and shortlist some alternatives to fill the position if the requirement arises.
