According to The Sun (h/t Football.London), West Ham United have decided to reject bids for their superstar Declan Rice amidst interest from Chelsea. He has been one of the crucial elements in their rise to the top in the Premier League table.
The English international is a highly coveted midfielder following his impressive displays in the Euro 2020. He has not slowed down at the club level as he helped the Hammers to third place in the league this season.
The 22-year-old was sensational in the recent fixture against Liverpool as his team won by a scoreline of 3-2 and leapfrogged Jurgen Klopp’s side in the title race. He has three goals and assists each this season from 15 appearances so far.
David Moyes’ side are said to be not entertaining any offers for the player as they want to build a team around him. Even an offer worth £100 million or more would not be heeded by the club due to their new ambitions.
Moyes’ team have turned their desires towards playing in the Champions League, which means they cannot afford to lose their key players. It is understandable, based on the newfound goals, why they do not want to lose the Englishman’s services.
The England midfielder had rejected two contract offers last year, and negotiations are ongoing over a new deal. Neither the player nor the club are in any rush as there are three years left on his current contract.
