According to Diario Sport (h/t ESPN), FC Barcelona are interested in getting the signature of Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea for a loan move in the January transfer window. He has had a mixed time at Stamford Bridge following his transfer from Ajax.
Ziyech was bought for a fee of £36.6m, including add-ons after he impressed during his time at Amsterdam. He has eight goals and five assist as a Blues player and is yet to consistently show his quality in England.
The 28-year-old has struggled to get regular minutes this season since he failed to capitalise on the opportunities he got. As a result, he is eyeing a move away from the club to find his feet again at the top. Barcelona are keeping tabs on him for a loan in the winter transfer window.
Thomas Tuchel’s side is open to letting the Moroccan leave in January with an option to buy in the future. That is something the Catalans would ask for because of their financial issues.
Borussia Dortmund have already expressed their interest in the attacking midfielder for a January transfer. However, he is keeping all his options open currently to find the best solution for his interest.
Barca are also targeting Kingsley Coman as a replacement but has been rejected by Bayern Munich for a loan move. This could pave the way for them to focus their attention towards the out of favour Morocco international.
The English club would be hoping to recoup the fee paid for him to cut short the losses. Should he impress elsewhere, the option to buy him would likely be activated. It’s a shame that he hasn’t lived up to expectations but maybe it is time for the Blues to cut their losses.
