Speaking in the pre-match press conference (h/t Chelsea YouTube official), Thomas Tuchel weighed in on the tough run of fixtures and the hectic schedule he will face in the coming months. He was speaking ahead of the game against Leicester City on Saturday.
It will be the first time that Tuchel will be involved in Boxing Day and the packed fixtures associated around that time. His team is in a good spot currently, having built upon the Champions League success from the last term.
The Blues coach is excited about the challenges ahead and is looking forward to what it brings in the future. He adds that he enjoys what he does and how it does not feel like a job while being privileged about his current status.
It is good to see the German appear up for the challenge. Negotiating games that come thick and fast is no mean task and the Blues boss will need to be astute in his squad management.
“I’m looking forward to it. I love my job but it does not feel like a job. I’m enjoying every day, being with the squad and the football team, I feel privileged. I love the game and very blessed that I can be part of a big football club, to live my passion.”
The German manager also compared his current situation to what he faced in Germany and France. He added how he had winter breaks, watched the Boxing Day matches and is aware of what lies ahead.
“It is the first time I will play around Christmas and New Year, we had little breaks in France and Germany but what did we do? We watched Boxing Day games. I am aware of the schedule but it does not feel like a job. I am happy to be here.”
There is such positivity around the boss that he rubs off on others and, this has laid fruit ever since his appointment. He was able to instantly turn us and compete against Manchester City and Liverpool, who have been dominating the league over the past few years.
There is confidence among the fans that we would win multiple titles this season because of what Tuchel brings to the team.
