Opponent watch: Juventus handed major injury boost ahead of Chelsea encounter

Injury Latest: Juventus handed Paulo Dybala boost ahead of Champions League clash vs Chelsea

According to Italian journalist Giovanni Albanese (h/t Football.London), Juventus are handed an injury boost in the form of Paulo Dybala ahead of the Champions League fixture against Chelsea. The Blues will host the match at Stamford Bridge and attempt to gain a foothold over the top spot in the group.

Juve was the winner in the opposite fixture, having won the game 1-0 through a goal scored by Federico Chiesa. After four matches have been played in the group, they have a perfect record and top the table with 12 points, whereas Thomas Tuchel’s side is in second with nine.

Dybala has found his feet again and has been sensational so far this season. He has scored six goals while assisting four times in 11 matches across all competitions. He had endured a tough couple of seasons at Turin but has found his magic and could threaten Tuchel’s defence.

Juventus receive Paulo Dybala injury boost.

The 28-year-old had missed the reverse encounter and was recently sidelined in his side’s 2-0 victory against Lazio in Seria A. Having missed the previous game due to a muscle issue there were doubts of his availability for the CL clash.

However, the Argentinian has returned to training and is in a race against time to get in contention for the matchday squad. Should he be fully fit, the German boss will have to be wary of his quality and the form he has shown this term.

The Italian club will also be delighted by the return of Manuel Locatelli, who has been crucial for them. However, Danilo is out of contention, having suffered an adductor injury in their previous match against Maurizio Sarri’s team.

The CL holders would need to get all three points to increase their chances of finishing as the group leaders. Should we fail, we would have to face a tough draw and face the other group leaders. A win with a better goal difference than the reverse fixture would be the best scenario that will keep all the cards with ourselves.
