Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher praises Arsenal legend Patrick Viera for his sensational Premier League start
According to The Independent, Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher has praised Arsenal legend Patrick Viera for his sensational start in the Premier League. He joined Vieira at Crystal Palace this season to get regular minutes in the top-flight.
Gallagher was sent to Palace on a season-long deal after he had spent his previous year on loan at West Bromwich Albion. He has impressed in his previous spells at the Hawthorns, Swansea City and Charlton Athletic and has continued that this term.
The 21-year-old has four goals and two assists to his name from 11 appearances across all competitions. His most impactful performance came against league holders Manchester City since he had a goal and an assist, which helped his loan club win by 2-0.
“Working under Patrick is amazing. He was one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. To learn from him and work under him is brilliant.”
The midfielder lauded his boss for his legacy as a player and said that working under him is spectacular. He added how the former France international helped him work to his strengths and made him tactically adept in the game.
“He helps me a lot tactically and most importantly is how he knows my strengths and tells me what to do in terms of that. So I am allowed to do what I do best which is part of the reason why I’ve had a good start to the season.”
The Englishman has recently made his national team debut after coming on in the qualifier against San Marino. The Blues have no intentions to sell their loanee at the end of the season and had refused to include a buy option in his loan deal.

This shows that Thomas Tuchel has plans for him in the future, and the decision to send him on loan was right after all. He would add fresh blood to the squad, and with N’Golo Kante and Jorginho not getting any younger, he would be a gem for the future.
And while Vieira might be an Arsenal legend, rivalries should take a backseat if the Frenchman helps Gallagher in the long run, because after all, he is our midfielder for now.
