“Go for that”- Tuchel and Chelsea sent warning by Malmo boss ahead of UCL clash

Malmo manager warns Thomas Tuchel and co ahead of Champions League tie vs Chelsea

Talking ahead of their Champions League encounter (h/t Football.London) against Chelsea, Malmo manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has asked his side to give their best following a dismissal performance in the first leg.

Chelsea outclassed Swedish minnows in their previous fixture despite star striker Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner being forced out due to injuries in between the game for the European Champions at Stamford Bridge.

The reverse fixture, played at Stamford Bridge last month, saw Chelsea cruise to a 4-0 win over Malmo.

Malmo has been a disaster at the back as they have conceded 11 goals in just three games in this year’s Champions League and Malmo coach will be hoping that his players can be much more organised in the back this time around.

Tomasson has asked (h/t Football.London) his team to give Chelsea a run for the money, unlike their game at Stamford Bridge, and warned them that the Swedes will be out to get a positive result in Malmo.

“We are playing against a very good side, probably one of the best but we go on the pitch to get a good result. We are involved in this party playing in the Champions League and we want to be part of the party.”

“… tomorrow is a game where we want to give everything to make an upset against a very good side and we go for that.”

Chelsea are in pretty decent form as they themselves will be building their campaign towards securing the top spot by beating Juventus in their final game. The European Champions are currently second on the points table, three points behind the Old Lady.

Thomas Tuchel will be missing the likes of Matteo Kovacic, Mason Mount and the two forwards Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner as they are all out of the match because of their respective injuries and illness.

A win for the Blues against Malmo will almost certainly guarantee their spot to the next round as they chase their third Champions League title.
