Chelsea have not taken a stance on the future of Hakim Ziyech amidst FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund links
According to The Telegraph (h/t Football.London), Chelsea have not made any decision regarding the future of Hakim Ziyech amidst interest from FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund ahead of the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old was signed from Ajax in 2020 after £33.3m excluding add-ons was paid for his transfer. However, after failing to meet the expectations at Stamford Bridge, his future hangs in the balance as he has fallen down the pecking order.
Supposedly, a loan move was in the making in January, with Barcelona and Dortmund interested in getting Ziyech’s services. It was claimed that the German club contacted his representatives for a future deal since he was keen to restart his career.
However, it is now said that the Blues have not held talks with the Moroccan international over his future. Furthermore, a loan deal is unlikely since they are undecided on his future.
With this new update, the winger’s future is even more uncertain as he has started just twice in the Premier League. He would be regretting to take his chances when opportunities came his way due to the circumstances.
The forward has played ten matches this term and has a tally of two goals and an assist. And with Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic returning to the squad, minutes could become more scarce for the former Ajax man.

With Thomas Tuchel as his manager, he would always have a chance to fight his way back into the team. Tuchel’s methods reward those who impress him through their performances in training and matches, and Ziyech could still get his chances.
But with the transfer window getting closer by the minute, he would be wise to perform to his best capabilities when the next chance arrives.
