According to Evening Standard, Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has opened up about his feelings on the injury issues he suffered in previous years. The midfielder is on the back of a solid game against Malmo in the UEFA Champions League group stages.
The 25-year-old has featured in nine matches this season across all competitions leaving behind the injury history that plagued him in the previous years. He has also been in a fine run of form and has earned praise from Thomas Tuchel recently.
The Blues player is claimed to be in contention to be selected for the England national team squad. He has made a resurgence at the club and the national team and could reach his potential if he keeps up the trajectory.
I feel good physically and mentally I’ve left my injury behind. It doesn’t even come into my head now. I’m playing freely and I can concentrate on football and football only so I’m in a good place.”
This would be great news for the Blues supporters who wanted him to succeed at their club. Being an academy graduate, it is natural that the fans would want one of their own to leave a mark at Stamford Bridge.
“I’ll try to keep developing. I’m grateful for the time on the pitch that I have and I’ll just keep giving my best.”
Loftus-Cheek knows he has not reached his best which goes in line with what Tuchel said about him following the game in the CL. He would be hoping to develop while continuing to show his prowess as he gets more minutes with the team.
