According to Football.London, Chelsea loanee Tino Anjorin has suffered a broken metatarsal during training for Lokomotiv Moscow. He was sent out on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy in the future.
The 19-year-old joined Lokomotiv back in the summer on a loan deal with an option to buy, which becomes active in January. It is said that the Russian club will have to pay £17million if they decide to keep him.
Following the move, he salvaged a point for his side in the Europa League match against Olympic Marseille. He was involved in a training session ahead of their match against Galatasaray when he suffered the injury.
Anjorin is expected to return to Cobham today as a part of his recovery and rehabilitation. There has been no specific recovery date at the moment, however, it is believed that he will be able to join his loan club before March.
The England international will be benefitted from the long winter break of the Russian Premier Liga and will not miss many games. He will be hoping to make a quick recovery as an injury is the last thing that he needs in his developmental stage.
The teenager had previously impressed Frank Lampard when he was handed his first start at the first team. Thomas Tuchel and the first-team coaches were also singing in high praise but could not find minutes for him.
The Blues have included a buy-back clause in his contract should he impress on his time at Russia. Thomas Tuchel’s side will have to pay £34million to buy the youngster provided Lokomotiv activates their buy option.
