Last month the Blues academy played gave a scintillating performance against the defending champion Manchester City in the Premier League. He bagged one goal and one assist in that game to provide Patrick Viera’s team with a memorable victory.

Despite being one of the most in-form players in the Premier League, he was overlooked by Gareth Southgate in the previous list. This decision from the Three Lions manager created some speculations at first. But after the loss of some key players, he had to change his decision.

Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, James Ward-Prowse, and Mason Mount faced fitness issues and haven’t featured in the game against Albania. It is highly unlikely that they could make a comeback in the last age against San Marino.

Declan Rice also felt unwell and was withdrawn from the two games. The England manager first called up Emile Smith Rowe as a backup cover for the midfield position, and the Arsenal youngster made his senior debut against Albania as a substitute.

It is believed that the Blues player received the nod to join the England squad ahead of their last group game in the World Cup qualifiers and the announcement would soon be surfaced.
