Chelsea fight to keep talented youngster Ben Elliott at club.

Transfer News: Chelsea fear of losing young teenager Ben Elliott with Southampton, Brentford, and Brighton keen

According to The Sun, Chelsea fear losing yet another young teenager Ben Elliott as a number of Premier clubs are tracking his situation at Stamford Bridge.

Southampton, Brentford and Brighton are all circling around the teenager as the Blues are yet to tie him down to a long-term contract at the club.

The 18-year-old is highly regarded at the club academy and has been a regular with the club’s under-23 squad for the past year and a half but he is yet to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

His current deal expires in the summer and west Londoners would fear that they might end up losing the young prodigy. A player with his pedigree would want to play at the highest level and get more time on the pitch in a competitive league.

Young players like Valentino Livramento, who now plays for Southampton, and Leeds United’s Lewis Bate already decided to swap clubs in the summer after rejecting contract offers from the club, perhaps due to a lack of game time.

Brighton has earlier already raided Chelsea when they lured Tariq Lamptey for £5million with the offer of regular first-team football.

So with the clubs circling around Elliott – the bosses at Chelsea are worried that lure of the first team might be enough for the youngster to swap the club. And as per the same report, a bid of around £800,000 might be enough to land the prospect if he decides to move on from the club.

Chelsea, who have already started talks over a contract extension of a highly-rated youngster Harvey Vale last week might be hoping to have a word with Elliott as well regarding the extension in near future.

According to The Athletic (Subscription Required) last week, Chelsea have already started with their effort in trying to tie the youngster down to a new long-term contract.
