Chelsea superstar Mason Mount has yet to join the England national team following the surgery on his teeth
According to Football.London, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has not joined the England national team since he underwent surgery on his wisdom teeth following an infection. He was selected by Gareth Southgate even after he underwent an operation.
England will face Albania and San Marino for the 2022 Qatar World Cup Qualifiers, and Mount could miss out on both games due to his recent surgery. He had missed the game against Malmo in the Champions League as a result of the issue.
It was first diagnosed ahead of the match against Newcastle United, where the Blues had won 3-0 without the midfielder. While he featured recently against Burnley on Saturday. he only played the final few minutes of the game.
However, Southgate has selected the 22-year-old but, it is uncertain whether he will join his national teammates or not. It is said that the situation is continued to be monitored, meaning he might not join if full recovery is not made.
It is also said that other players have reported to St. George’s Park for the national side but, the Englishman was missing among them. Earlier this week, Thomas Tuchel had said that he would not be available or would have to join up late depending upon the recovery.
Tuchel also mentioned how the England international is not at his best fitness due to weight loss. He added that Mount could not keep up with the regular diet as he could not eat properly and had taken medication as a result.
