Transfer News: La Liga giants plan triple Chelsea raid including Ziyech

Transfer News: FC Barcelona plans triple raid on Chelsea for Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi

According to Catalan Daily Sport (h/t Derbyshire Times), FC Barcelona are interested in the services of Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi as they plan to raid Chelsea for it. The interest is generated following the arrival of Xavi Hernandez as the new manager.

The Blues trio has not been a mainstay in the starting lineup due to reasons like poor form, injuries or competition within the squad. However, they still form a crucial part of the team since they help maintain the quality and depth needed for title challenges.

The Catalan club looks to capitalise on this opportunity to build their depleted squad under the new man in helm, Xavi. It is said that the former midfielder is interested in the trio and has a firm interest in having them in his new team.

Having recorded £409m losses in the previous season, it is fair to say that the Catalan giants aren’t in the strongest financial position they have ever been in. And with Chelsea battling for multiple silverware, Thomas Tuchel would want ample depth across the pitch.

With no incentives to back up their interests, it would be tough for the Blaugrana club to price away even one from the trio. The goodwill and the possibility of more minutes could be the only reasons that would help them in this circumstance.

Bild from Germany (h/t Derbyshire Times) have also stated that the Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on the Moroccan international and have contacted the player’s representatives for a future move.

Hudson-Odoi has not featured consistently for Chelsea.

Tuchel’s side would be unlikely to deplete their squad during a season, and the chances of a summer move are low in number as well. We are in a good place, and our ambitions are to build on last seasons’ success in the Champions League.

Hence we would not want to dismantle the cohesive squad unless the players themselves ask for a move.
