A View From The Bridge

Chelsea face competition from European giants for 17-year-old Ligue 1 starlet

Transfer News: Chelsea battle AC Milan and Atletico Madrid for Angers SCO starlet Mohamed-Ali Cho

According to L’Equipe (h/t Football.London), Chelsea are being joined by AC Milan and Atletico Madrid in pursuit of Ligue 1 wonder kid Mohamed-Ali Cho.

The 17-year-old has already played 36 matches for Angers SCO across all competitions scoring on two occasions at such a young age. The French professional footballer could be a great long-term asset to the West London club if nurtured probably.

The teenager still has a long way to go but has shown that there is immense potential to grow. The Italian and the Spanish club are also monitoring his situation at the moment. The Blues already have some great attackers upfront with Kai Havertz delivering some clinical performances in the absence of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are keeping an eye on Chelsea transfer target Mohamed-Ali Cho

Chelsea are currently sitting on top of the Premier League table and are enjoying a good run of form this season. The defending UEFA Champions League winners could now look forward to securing the future of the club by bringing in some young exciting prospects.

Ali Cho could be a useful option and could develop at a great pace with the technical knowledge and experience of the West Londoners’ manager. Thomas Tuchel has shown his faith in youngsters recently by giving Trevoh Chalobah and Callum Hudson-Odoi more opportunities in the first team.

Mohamed Ali-Cho has been impressive for Angers SCO recently

Angers are ninth in Ligue 1 at the moment which could be termed as a good start to the season for them. As things stand they are only five points adrift of the top four but there is still a long way to go for the season. While there is no confirmation of any transfer, a move to Stamford Bridge could be a big step up for the 17-year-old.

The next few years could be crucial for his development as a budding footballer and would have to be navigated carefully. He could take some time to adapt to football in England but before thinking about that, the Blues should be wary of the Rossoneri and the Colchoneros also keeping tabs on the youngster.
