Juventus ‘threatened’ by Mino Raiola over potential move for Matthijs de Ligt next summer amidst Chelsea interest
According to Calciomercato (h/t Daily Mail), Mino Raiola has threatened to secure a move for Matthijs de Ligt away from Juventus next summer amidst Chelsea contact.
The Dutch defender joined the Turin outfit in 2019 in a big-money move worth £63million. Since then, he has lifted one Serie A title with the Italian club and is now part of the side that is trying to win the league title back from reigning champions Inter Milan.
However, several big clubs are plotting a move for the former Ajax captain with a potential transfer on the cards next summer. The super-agent is said to have already made contact with the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona, and Chelsea.
The Blues are aware that Antonio Rudiger might not remain at the club at the end of the season amidst uncertainty over a contract extension. Thiago Silva might also depart the club at the end of his deal next summer, while he will also turn 38 by the start of next season.
The London club also failed in their efforts to get a deal over the line for Sevilla ace Jules Kounde this summer. Thus, it makes sense why Thomas Tuchel and co might be interested in a move for De Ligt.
However, Juventus are not willing to grant any discounts on the 22-year-old star’s €150million release clause as they are firm on their stance.

The Italian club are also confident that nobody can foot such a huge bill. While that is the case, Mino Raiola is leading the charge to secure an exit for his client next summer.
Thus, with the Italian agent himself actively taking an effort to orchestrate a move for the Dutch centre-back, Chelsea could swoop in and get a deal done for one of the best young centre-backs in world football.
