Speaking to William Hill (h/t Metro), Glen Johnson has said that Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham should join Liverpool over Chelsea. The Borussia Dortmund duo is one of the most talented pairs in the football world at this point in time.
Haaland is a very prolific goalscorer as he has scored a ridiculous 70 goals in 69 appearances for Dortmund. He has also provided 19 assists during that period as he moved from RB Salzburg to the Bundesliga side.
Bellingham also has had a rapid rise to the top for the German giants and the England national team. He is the most expensive 17-year-old in football history to this date and has lived up to that hype so far.
“I’d love to see [Erling] Haaland and [Jude] Bellingham at Liverpool. They are two young guys who are built for the Premier League and for a club like Liverpool. They could develop over the years under a manager like Jurgen Klopp and I could see them becoming massive names in football for a long, long time.”
Manchester United and Manchester City are the two other clubs that are said to be interested in the players. However, the former England right-back has tipped the duo to join Klopp and his Reds side.
“There’ll be competition from other clubs across Europe for sure, but I think it’d be appealing to come to Anfield, challenge for trophies and work under a top-class manager like Klopp.”
The idea of getting the talented duo is one to daydream indeed but the likelihood of it happening is tiny. This is especially the case when Sebastian Kehl has told that the 18-year-old Bellingham is not leaving the Westfalenstadion any time soon.
As for Haaland, it remains to be seen what will happen especially when a supposed release clause worth £64million comes into play.
