A View From The Bridge

18-year-old forward reveals dream of Chelsea move following impressive scoring run with MLS side

FC Dallas starlet Ricardo Pepi dreaming of moving to Chelsea in the future

According to TUDN via The Chelsea Chronicle (h/t The Express), MLS starlet Ricardo Pepi has gone on record to reveal his dream of representing Premier League champions Chelsea.

The FC Dallas hotshot has proven himself to be a prolific striker in the American league. Just 18, he has so far made 55 appearances scoring 16 goals and four assists. 13 of them have come in just 27 appearances this season, a sign of his talent beginning to bloom.

Primarily a centre forward, the 18-year-old American is capable of playing anywhere along the frontline. It is however upfront that he truly shines and will do well to perfect the role than waste himself out on the wings.

According to the report, Pepi’s performances have not gone unnoticed. The trio of Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Juventus have all been alerted to his potential and continue to keep tabs.

Pepi’s prolific numbers have seen him compared to Bundesliga goalscoring machines, Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland. He is the youngest player to score a hat-trick in the MLS, achieving the treble against Los Angeles Galaxy.

While Pepi has already had a trial at Bayern and has also seen Juventus contact his representatives, his heart appears set on a move to Stamford Bridge or Santiago Bernabeu.

“I would like to play at Real Madrid one day. Or Chelsea, or another big club.”

To be fair, Pepi does not really appear top keen to move to just Chelsea. He has set his sight on a top side and it could just be a matter of who makes the best offer first.

He may have namedropped the Blues, but it remains to be seen if Thomas Tuchel’s side are at the front of the queue for Pepi’s signature, a player who has already been capped by the USMNT.

Chelsea already have one USA superstar in Christian Pulisic. Whether Pepi will develop into Captain America’s winter soldier at the Bridge remains to be seen.
