“Can’t be satisfied”: 25-year-old Chelsea ace reveals displeasure at lack of game-time and gives verdict on transfer to Bundesliga

Timo Werner reveals stance on Bayern Munich transfer and expresses Chelsea frustration

Speaking in an interview as quoted by Express.de (h/t Metro), Chelsea striker Timo Werner claimed that it is difficult being behind Romelu Lukaku in the pecking order and gave his stance on a transfer move to Bayern Munich in the future.

The 25-year-old striker played in 35 league games for Chelsea last season under Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel. But this season, he has started just thrice in seven league games.

Much of that is due to the club’s acquisition of Romelu Lukau this summer. The 28-year-old Belgium international has been the club’s main man upfront since his move from Inter Milan.

And Werner has made it clear that he is not the happiest player in the world due to the current situation at Stamford Bridge but added that he will keep fighting for his spot in the starting XI.

Werner to Bayern?

The last few weeks have been difficult at Chelsea. After many years, I was suddenly a little behind and had to fight my way again… Of course, I can’t be satisfied if I don’t play. Of course, I want to be a regular in a big team. But I’m not saying that if I don’t start 10 or 15 games before Christmas, I really want to leave.”

After stressing the fact that he is not thinking about a transfer move after Christmas, Werner also clarified that the decision to change his agent to Volker Struth, who has strong ties with Bayern Munich, has nothing to do with a potential move to Bundesliga in the future.

“This should not be interpreted as a hint for or against Bayern. It just worked out well between us. It wasn’t about which club might be of interest to me in the future. It was just about the interpersonal basis. The cooperation so far has been very good.”

Apart from Werner, Chelsea don’t really have a natural number nine to pair or rotate with Lukaku. Especially after the sales of Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud this summer, the club should be careful regarding Werner.
