According to their official website, Chelsea have released an injury update on Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta as they returned to training ahead of the clash with Newcastle United.
The Blues travel to St. James’ Park in their tenth game of the Premier League season looking to continue their form. They are handed big boosts by the return of these four key players as the club released pictures from training.
All four missed the midweek game against Southampton in the Carabao cup where Thomas Tuchel’s side beat the Saints in a penalty shoot-out. Tuchel will be delighted to hear the progress as they run into a crammed fixture list in the future.
Pulisic had picked up an ankle injury for his country and has not featured for the English club since the opening weekend of the season. Earlier, Kante suffered from muscle tightness and was pulled off from the squad as a precaution.
Similarly, Christensen and Azpilicueta were out due to minor problems and have subsequently returned to training. The 25-year-old had tooth surgery and the team captain had a shoulder injury, as claimed by the German coach.
The Champions League winners were in high spirits at Cobham as they prepared for the match tomorrow. They would be looking to get all three points to put pressure on the chasing pack.
The return of the winger would be the biggest boost as Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are currently out indefinitely. It gives the German manager more options upfront to choose from as they were a bit stretched in the attack.
