Transfer News: Antonio Rudiger yet to decide on his Chelsea future amid expiring contract

According to transfer news from Christian Falk of BILD, Antonio Rudiger is yet to decide on his future at Chelsea. The reputed journalist has refuted any claims that Rudiger has turned down a new contract from Chelsea or that Bayern Munich have offered him a contract of £400,000-per-week.

Despite playing a starring role for Chelsea in the last few seasons, Antonio Rudiger’s future continues to be the subject of speculation. The German defender who has won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup with the Blues will see his contract end in the summer of 2022 should Chelsea fail to tie him down to a new deal.

Over the last few weeks, there have been talks about Rudiger’s future. Some have claimed that Rudiger is not keen on a new deal with Chelsea. Others have apparently linked the 28-year-old with a move to Bayern claiming that they have prepared contract offers of £400,000-per-week.

It would seem none of those claims were true and instead Rudiger will take his time over deciding on his future. Reputed journalist Christian Falk has discredited those aforementioned claims as Rudiger has not ruled out a potential extension and neither have Bayern offered the German a contract of £400,000-per-week.

This would come as great news for Chelsea fans who have seen Rudiger become a vital part of their team’s defence over the past few months under Thomas Tuchel. The ideal scenario would now be that the club convinces him to renew his contract- if, of course, that’s what Marina Granovskaia and co want.

Chelsea will need to figure out a way to get things sorted sooner rather than later. He is surely one of their key players and losing him would hurt the side. Losing him for free would hurt even more. For now, he is heading nowhere and will likely wait things out to see how it all could go.
