According to transfer news from La Colina de Nervion (h/t Express), Chelsea are ready to sell Antonio Rudiger and a trio of clubs have shown interest. Transfer supremo Marina Granovskaia is ready to go against the wishes of Thomas Tuchel and let the player go. Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and PSG have shown interest.
The 28-year-old Rudiger has continued to impress for Chelsea ever since his move to the club. He has been crucial to the side winning trophies over the last few seasons and played a huge part in the Champions League win last season. A perfect fit for Tuchel’s system, he has been an assured presence at the back for the Blues.
Despite the defender being one of the first names on the team sheet under Tuchel, his future is still cloudy. One needs to remember that his contract ends in less than a year and there has been no indication that a new deal will be signed. Hence, Chelsea and Granovskaia are ready to cash in on the German in January.
That does go against Tuchel who expects the player to stay and sign a new deal. There is obviously no shortage of suitors for the quality defender. Bayern Munich, PSG and Real Madrid have all shown keenness to sign him (h/t Express). A sale for Rudiger would mean Chelsea revisiting their interest in Jules Kounde.
It may sound harsh but if Rudiger is not signing a new deal, cashing in on him is the best option. Chelsea are after Kounde and any cash from a potential deal would help in getting him. January could be an interesting time to look out for Chelsea’s transfer business.
