Chelsea ace Antonio Rudiger has caught the attention of Real Madrid

According to Marca (h/t Express), Real Madrid are ready to launch an offer for Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger as Carlo Ancelotti looks to bolster his options at the back.

The 28-year-old Chelsea defender’s contract is set to expire in 2022 and the German could leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the current season. Additionally, there are a lot of suitors in the race to sign the centre-back, and one of them is now looking to make an approach.

Real Madrid, who lost the likes of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain respectively this summer, could be looking to add quality to their backline.

The Spanish giants are planning to hold talks with Rudiger, something they might be able to do freely in about 3 months. If an extension is not agreed between the German and the West London club, Rudiger will be free to talk to foreign clubs in January, including Real Madrid.

Moreover, it is also understood that Rudiger’s agent is already working to find the best club for his client. The German has been said to be demanding a huge pay rise on his current deal worth £130,000-per-week, but so far, the Blues have not been too keen on bowing down to the 28-year-old’s demands.

The centre-back was a crucial part of the club’s UEFA Champions League triumph last season and won the UEFA Super Cup last month as well.  Although the defender could go on to play a huge role for the club this season, it remains to be seen where his future lies next summer as clubs circle around for his signature.
