Transfer News: Chelsea interested in Arsen Zakharyan

According to transfer news reports in Russia (h/t Daily Star), Chelsea have shown interest in signing Arsen Zakharyan. Thomas Tuchel wants to add another midfielder to the side as he wants to refresh his options. The Dynamo Moscow starlet is said to be available for around £10million.

A youth product of Krylia Sovetov Samara, Zakharyan has also spent time at the Konoplev Football academy before finally settling in at Dynamo Moscow. He made the move in 2017 and since then, has played through the various youth levels. However, it would be a while before he would go on to feature for the senior side.

Tuchel is said to be keen on replacing Billy Gilmour who went on loan to Norwich. With Tiemoue Bakayoko and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also not in his plans, Chelsea have identified Zakharyan as a target. The talented midfielder is said to be valued at a modest £10million by Dynamo Moscow.

It is not clear as to how much of an interest Chelsea have in the Russian midfielder at this point. He is unlikely to be a signing for the current side given his age and the presence of other established names. Nonetheless, Chelsea are known to go after the brightest talents in the continent and groom them for the future. Zakharyan is a promising name and could fit that category.
