Chelsea Transfer News: Trio of clubs after Tiemoue Bakayoko
According to transfer news from Calciomercato (h/t The Sun), Chelsea outcast Tiemoue Bakayoko is the subject of interest from a trio of clubs. Napoli, AC Milan and Lyon have all joined in the race to sign the midfielder who is not in Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
The Frenchman came to Chelsea with a lot of expectations. After all, he had absolutely bossed the midfield for AS Monaco during the 2016-17 season. He was an expensive signing for Chelsea during the time as they had to shell out £40million for him. It would turn out to be a horror show for Bakayoko and Chelsea since then.
After some error-strewn performances, Bakayoko was allowed to move out on loan. He went to AC Milan, Monaco and Napoli over the last few years. However, he failed to produce the same spark and none of the sides really took up the option of a permanent deal, forcing him to return to Chelsea for now.
The midfielder is not in the plans of Thomas Tuchel and measures are being taken to ship him off. Interest in the player is high though as two of his former clubs, Napoli and AC Milan are keen on signing him. They have been joined by Lyon who have made contact with the Blues over a move. The midfielder is also keen on the move.

26-year-old Bakayoko is a case of ‘what could have been’. Despite the talent, he could hardly get it right at Chelsea and often cost them in games. With so many clubs after him, it won’t be a surprise to see him depart the club for good.
