According to transfer news from The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Express], Chelsea have three more players on their wishlist after completing a deal for Romelu Lukaku. The Blues are understood to be after Jules Kounde, Declan Rice and Aurelien Tchouameni, as up to two news players are wanted by Tuchel.
Chelsea looked like they were struggling in the transfer market as they were yet to make any new additions apart from Marcus Bettinelli until last week. However, a deal for Romelu Lukaku seemed to have been in the works and Chelsea finally splurged a massive £97.5million on him. And even after that deal, Chelsea are not done in the transfer market.
The Blues have three more targets they could go after as Thomas Tuchel wants at least two new names. The first name they want from that list is Jules Kounde. He is said to be a priority for Chelsea but a deal has stalled in recent weeks and the emergence of Trevor Chalobah is said to have given Tuchel food for thought on whether to go after Kounde or not.
Declan Rice is a long-term target for Chelsea but interest in the West Ham man cooled down a notch after Tuchel was appointed. However, there is still some degree of interest in him currently. Another midfielder the Blues have been eyeing is Aurelien Tchouameni of AS Monaco, with ex-Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas also giving a glowing recommendation for him.
Chelsea might be running against the clock if they want at least two of those names. The transfer window closes in less than three weeks and business could be comparatively difficult to do as the deadline approaches. Nonetheless, Chelsea could benefit from one more addition and should try to get it done in the time remaining.
