According to Football.london, Chelsea are in talks with Lokomotiv Moscow over a move for Tino Anjorin. With so much competition for places in the side, Anjorin is far away from a spot in the starting XI or probably the matchday squad. Although, it’s not clear whether he would be heading to Lokomotiv on a loan or permanent deal.
It has been a bit frustrating for Anjorin over the last season. He has hovered around the first team for such a long time and despite making it to the bench on a few occasions, he has only been handed one game by Thomas Tuchel in the FA Cup win over Barnsley. Under Frank Lampard, he made four appearances.
Despite the omissions, Tuchel decided to keep the player for the pre-season. There was the feeling that a good campaign would push him into the plans for the season. However, he was down with COVID and could play only one game against Spurs. Even in those few minutes, Anjorin showed that he has the ability to play under a meticulous manager under Tuchel.
Either way, the 19-year-old academy graduate is likely to depart the club this season it seems. Chelsea have been in talks with the Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow over a move for Anjorin (h/t Football.london). It is not specified whether the deal is a loan or a permanent transfer. But it is very likely due to the increased competition at the club currently.
Anjorin has been really unlucky in this case. However, the fact is that Chelsea will again be fighting for trophies on all fronts and there are a host of stars in the side waiting for their turn. Sending the 19-year-old out, potentially on loan might be the best option for now.
