Hakim Ziyech could leave Chelsea this summer amidst links with AC Milan
According to reports in Italy via Absolute Chelsea (h/t football.london), Hakim Ziyech could still leave the club this summer with the player’s future deemed to be uncertain.
The Moroccan star has been linked with a move to AC Milan all summer, but given that he featured heavily in Chelsea’s pre-season, it was suspected that the winger might stay at the club after all.
However, it is now understood that AC Milan are still trying to sign the player and will attempt to bring the player to San Siro on a loan move, but it will be ‘very difficult’.
The 28-year-old joined the Blues last season in a £33.3million move from Dutch side AFC Ajax and was part of the £200million expenditure Chelsea incurred last season to freshen their squad.
Ziyech was primed to be an incredible signing for Chelsea, but injuries have prevented the player from doing so. The Moroccan was injured in his first pre-season game last season, ruling him out for the start of the 2020/21 season. All in all, Ziyech wrapped up only 23 Premier League appearances last season as he scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists in the process.
However, the Moroccan did receive a well-deserved rest this summer, and on the back of a terrific pre-season, he delivered for the Blues less than a week ago in the UEFA Super Cup final in Belfast as he scored the opening goal of the game. Unfortunately, the player suffered a shoulder injury and has now been ruled out for a couple of weeks.
