Trevoh Chalobah set to be offered new contract by Chelsea
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are ready to offer Trevoh Chalobah a new deal at the club following Thomas Tuchel’s talks with the player.
The defender has impressed at Stamford Bridge in the last two months, with Thomas Tuchel now keen on keeping the defender at the club instead of loaning him out for the fourth time. (h/t football.london)
The 22-year-old has previously been on loan at Ipswich Town, FC Lorient, and Huddersfield Town, but the player will now work with the first team of the West London outfit this season.
Chalobah featured in every pre-season game for the Blues this summer and impressed Tuchel with his performances. This led to the player being named in the starting lineup for the UEFA Super Cup final against Villarreal. The centre-back performed admirably and was an integral part of the team as the Blues restricted the Yellow Submarine to a single goal in the game.
Although the West Londoners did go on to win the game on penalties, Chalobah’s headline moment came a couple of days later when he was given his Premier League debut in the Blues’ season opener against Crystal Palace.
The Englishman took his chance and shined on his debut as he helped the team keep a clean sheet. He also scored his first-ever Premier League goal in sumptuous fashion as the Blues romped to a 3-0 victory.

These performances have also swayed Chelsea’s decision to chase Jules Kounde this summer, with the Blues apparently ready to offload Kurt Zouma instead of Chalobah.
The 22-year-old’s attention would now be on the game on Sunday when Chelsea go up against London rivals Arsenal, and the Englishman will be hoping to retain his starting spot, as he did last weekend.
