According to transfer news from Football.london, Inter Milan are eyeing the Chelsea trio of Emerson Palmieri, Davide Zappacosta and Marcos Alonso. The Serie A champions are looking to bolster their wide areas after the departures of Ashley Young and Achraf Hakimi.
Chelsea have an interesting problem with their full-backs. Despite having a number of players to play in those positions, only a handful are sure starters. The likes of Ben Chilwell and Reece James have nailed down the starting spots, leaving a lot of the other players hanging dry.
Among those names are Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri and Davide Zappacosta. All three were additions from the Antonio Conte era but now find themselves on the bench or out on loan. While Zappacosta and Alonso have at least gotten some game time on loan or at the club, Emerson has suffered the most with only a handful of matches over last season.
Inter have taken some interest in the trio. The Italian side recently lost two of their wing-backs in Hakimi and Young. Now, they are looking at replacements and have laid their eyes on the aforementioned Chelsea trio. Oddly enough, all three of them were recruited from Serie A by Chelsea.
Chelsea could actually use some clearing out in terms of their fringe players. Inter are not likely to go after all three. However, even if they sign one for each flank, that would relieve Chelsea of some headache and wages.
