Transfer News: West Brom want Chelsea starlet Trevor Chalobah

According to transfer news from Birmingham Live, West Brom are looking to sign Chelsea starlet Trevor Chalobah. The 22-year-old just returned from his loan spell at Lorient but could be heading for a permanent exit this time.

Chalobah came through the ranks at Chelsea and spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Ipswich Town. On his return, he was again shipped off on loan to Huddersfield Town. The midfielder made 38 appearances for the Championship side scoring once.

The 22-year-old who can play in the midfield or defence spent yet another season on loan at Lorient. He did go on to make 29 league appearances for them, scoring twice. Currently, he is back at Cobham ahead of the new season.

It would seem as if there is some interest in Chalobah with West Brom keen on the midfielder. The recently-relegated side are already preparing a bid to bring the Chelsea starlet to the Hawthorns. However, this could be a permanent deal with his contract running out in 2023.

More Chelsea News:

Three loan spells in as many years mean that Chalobah probably isn’t on the path to the first team. Despite impressing at those clubs it looks highly unlikely that he could break into this star-studded side. Perhaps it’s for the best that Chelsea let him leave on a permanent deal instead of continuously pushing him around on loan.
