According to news on the club’s official website, Chelsea youngster Myles Peart-Harris has completed a transfer to Premier League club Brentford.
Hailing from west London, Peart-Harris joined the Chelsea academy at a very young age and made rapid strides through the age-group levels. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder featured 27 times for the Blues’ U-18 side, scoring 11 goals and setting up 7 more.
Peart-Harris was a regular in the club’s developmental side last season and went on feature 16 times for the U-23s, scoring seven times in the process. He never made an appearance for the London giants’ first-team, however.
The youngster had entered the final year of his contract with Chelsea. While the club had made an offer of a new deal, Peart-Harris declined the new deal, as he sought a faster progression to the first-team. (h/t Daily Star)
He has now completed a transfer to newly-promoted Premier League club Brentford, signing for an undisclosed transfer fee. The 18-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Bees, with an option of extending the deal by another year, reports the Evening Standard.
A statement by Chelsea read:
“Academy midfielder Myles Peart-Harris has today signed for newly-promoted Premier League side Brentford on a permanent basis. The 18-year-old departs after a decade in our youth ranks and following a season in which he scored 11 goals in 23 outings across all competitions. We thank Myles for his time at the club and wish him well in the future.”
Myles Peart-Harris becomes the latest young talent to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis, following in the footsteps of Marc Guehi, who signed for Crystal Palace, while Lewis Bate has joined Leeds United as well.
Dynel Simeu, too, is expected to be on his way to Southampton, whereas Tino Livramento, too, could be set for the exit doors, with Brighton & Hove Albion interested in the right-back.
