Thomas Tuchel wants Chelsea to sign Erling Haaland immediately

According to BILD (h/t Express), Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants the club to complete a deal for Borussia Dortmund and Norway striker Erling Haaland immediately.

Haaland is one of the most coveted young strikers in the game after his exploits with RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old plundered 41 goals in 41 games across all competitions in 2020/21, setting the stage alight with his fiery goalscoring prowess.

That has seen Haaland attract interest from several top clubs across Europe including the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Barcelona as well as Chelsea. However, it is the Blues who might be the best-placed to sign the striker as Thomas Tuchel wants to sign him up immediately.

It makes total sense for Chelsea to refresh their options at the top this summer as Olivier Giroud nears a transfer to AC Milan while Tammy Abraham could be headed to West Ham United. With Timo Werner not firing as expected in his debut season, signing someone like Haaland would be a no-brainer. (h/t Express)

Haaland will be available for £66m next summer when a release clause in his contract kicks in. Tuchel, however, is not willing to wait and wants the Norwegian signed up this year itself.

The Blues, though, have been issued a warning by Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc, who in a recent interview with BILD (h/t Express), claimed that the team was planning for next season with Haaland in the scheme of things.

“Nothing has changed. We are still planning with Erling for the new season.”

An intriguing saga seems to be building. Haaland, without a doubt, would be a top addition to the Chelsea attack. But with Dortmund firm on their stance, it will likely to take a mega offer from the Blues for the Germans to consider the prospect of a sale.
